Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 3 September 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of the Secure Shield web application firewall (WAF), content delivery network (CDN), DNS, TLS and analytics services (the "Service"). The Service is provided by Secure Shield ("we", "us", "our"), and by using the Service you enter into an agreement with Secure Shield.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or continuing to use the Service, you agree to be bound by these terms. If you are entering into this agreement on behalf of an organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that organisation. If you are contracting as an individual, you confirm that you are of legal age in your jurisdiction.
2. The Service
Secure Shield provides managed edge security and content delivery: traffic filtering against common web attacks, DDoS and bot mitigation, rate limiting, caching and delivery of your content from edge locations, certificate and DNS management, and the related dashboards, logs and analytics. Features available to you depend on the plan you purchase.
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service in accordance with your selected plan for the duration of your subscription.
3. Accounts and accurate information
- You are responsible for keeping your credentials and API tokens confidential and for all activity that occurs under your account.
- You must provide accurate account, contact and billing information and keep it current.
- You must only add domains, DNS records and origins that you own or are authorised to manage.
4. Acceptable use
You must not misuse the Service. In particular, you must not:
- use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of applicable regulations;
- use the Service for fraud, phishing, spam, malware distribution, or to conceal or proxy malicious infrastructure;
- infringe the intellectual property or privacy rights of any third party;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the Service — including probing, scanning, penetration testing without written permission, scraping, or attempting to circumvent rate limits, quotas or plan restrictions;
- reverse engineer, resell or redistribute the Service, except as expressly permitted in writing.
5. Your content
You retain ownership of the content, configuration and traffic data you route through the Service. You grant us a limited licence to host, cache, transmit and process that material solely to operate and support the Service.
6. Intellectual property
Secure Shield retains all right, title and interest in the Service, including its software, rule sets, documentation, dashboards and branding. Nothing in these terms transfers any of our intellectual property to you.
7. Service levels
We work to keep the Service continuously available, but we do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, timely, secure against every threat, or error-free. Filtering decisions are heuristic; no security service can block every attack. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Payment, subscriptions and taxes
Subscriptions are sold on an annual basis at the price shown at checkout. Plan changes are prorated and charged immediately; cancellations take effect at the end of the paid term, and you keep access until then.
Secure Shield is the seller of record for all orders. Payments are processed securely by our payment processor, Stripe. Secure Shield handles all customer service inquiries, billing questions and refunds.
Payment, billing, invoicing, applicable taxes, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Stripe's Consumer Terms. Our own refund commitment is described in our Refund Policy.
9. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access where there is material breach of these terms, non-payment, a security or fraud risk to us or other customers, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where practical we will give notice and an opportunity to remedy. On termination, your configuration and logs remain available for export for 30 days, after which they may be deleted.
10. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months preceding the claim. We exclude liability for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data, business or goodwill. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
11. Indemnity
You will indemnify Secure Shield against third-party claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the Service, or your breach of these terms.
12. Changes, assignment and force majeure
We may update these terms; material changes will be notified by email or in the dashboard. You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it as part of a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. Neither party is liable for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control.
13. Governing law and contact
This agreement is governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which Secure Shield is established, and the courts of that jurisdiction have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes. Questions about these terms can be sent to support@gosecureshield.com.
